How the Stars were Made is designed to
help children of cross-cultural language backgrounds fully understand the story
whether it’s read in the classroom, or in a home that predominantly speaks
either language.
There is a growing need for bi-lingual
education resources to facilitate an expanding English/Spanish-speaking
population. In the U.S. for example, 28%
of children under the age of 5 are Hispanic.
Census data and cultural trends show the necessity for adjustment as our
population becomes more diverse.
Despite recent awareness in government
and media, the fact remains that there are too few enough options for parents
& teachers that offer cross-cultural understanding in education.
