Christian Up.

Christian.  What separates Christianity from other religions?
What makes it different from the four other major dogmas?
Hell, three of the five major religions are based on the same doctrine.  We know them as the Old Testament, the Koran, the Torah, it’s all the same book.  Christianity takes it a step further with the New Testament, the doctrine of Christ.  If you’re Christian, your entire religious perspective is based around the teachings of one man and his wish for you to live in his image.  Christians are supposed to respect and adhere to his teachings and instruction.

By this time, I’m sure everyone’s heard the adage, “Conservatives are nothing like Jesus at all.”

I’m going to take it a step further…
If you consider yourself a modern day conservative…
If you follow the tenants of the Religious Right on social and fiscal issues, then you are not a Christian… or at very least an abomination to your own religion.

Just because you go to church on Sunday doesn’t make you a Christian.  Going to church is sitting in a room for an hour a week.  If you don’t live by the teachings of Christ you are not a Christian.  If you willingly dissent his instruction, you are not a Christian.  If you hurt, abuse, or forsake your fellow man for your own gain, you are not a Christian.  If you do not love your neighbor even though they might be different than you, you’re going against Christ.  If do not aid the poor and weak, you’re going against Christ.  If you don’t turn the other cheek, insist on making peace, not war, and change your enemies into your friends, you’re going against Christ.

A political belief system that is pro-war, anti-civil rights, anti-equal rights for women and homosexuals and shuns charitable kindness is not Christian.
