Conservative Tactic # 8
“The Conservative Device”
I’m sick of hearing the Conservative device:
“This is just what democrats do… Its freedom this, and
freedom that, until someone disagrees their opinion.”
Yeah, I’m all about everyone being entitled to just that, an opinion. What is not an opinion, and where I take issue, and what that device is used to reinforce, is deception. Where I draw the line with freedom of speech, or any personal liberty is when it is detrimental to the public good, as it is a lie! Just as yelling “fire” in a theater, or shooting a gun into a crowd, are things that are illegal because they harm other people. I draw the line at deception. Deception, is widely used by the Right Wing and spreads ignorance. Ignorance is the number one cause of this nation's problems. You have the right to your opinion, but stop being offended and trying to turn it back on Liberals, as if we only value our own opinions. Liberals value the truth… it’s one of the tenants of liberalism. So when you lie on your radio show, or spin zone television program expect liberals and other intelligent people to feel affronted and to discredit your “opinion” as it is a falsehood. A falsehood is not an opinion. A lie is not an opinion, it’s a fucking lie. And the truth is not an opinion, it’s the fucking truth.
