When I hear anti-Obama rhetoric I often find that it has little to do with his policy. There is this undertone of hatred that transcends racial detestation, though I assure you race is often a factor. I say that this abhorrence has little to do with his policy because the very people that scream anti-Obama the loudest are often the people that know the least about his administration’s policy and what Obama has actually done versus his republican adversaries.

“Anti-Obama” seems to mean: I am disgusted that this man is my president. They view Obama as this horrific being of alien origin and that they themselves are culturally superior to this person. It’s not just racism, its ethnocentrism, and its cultural-ism. They genuinely believe he is different on a cultural level, and it’s disturbing. The irony of course being that the majority of those who take this position of cultural superiority are most often white trash themselves. It’s a unique prejudice that no other president has had to endure, and no other rational witness of modern politics has had to observe, and frankly it’s disgraceful. Let’s just kick the facts. He is arguably one the most intellectual and accomplished presidents we’ve ever had. Especially once you consider what he has overcome to rise to the position of the leader of the free world. He was a scholarship graduate of Columbia University. He was a professor of constitutional law at Harvard Law School. Oh, let’s not discount the fact he came from a low income single parent household. Hardly the life of privilege and nepotism enjoyed by the majority of policy makers in Washington. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I hear he’s black.
Who are you calling Liberal?
You can call Obama a lot of things. But he is not the liberal menace Fox News would have you believe. The Obama administration has deported over one million illegal aliens since he has taken office. He will have deported more illegal aliens in four years than the Bush administration did in eight. His administration has issued ten times more in fines to employers who hire undocumented workers. The military has grown every year under the current administration. Our Navy now is larger than the next 13 largest naval fleets combined. And Obama just ordered a bunch more ships. Taking into consideration that this president inherited the worst economic recession since the Great Depression, he has only spent around 1.5 trillion compared to the Bush administration’s 5 trillion, most of which was spent on an unnecessary war in Iraq that has been proven to have absolutely nothing to do with the terror attacks on September 11th, 2001. Not to mention, the Iraq war has killed nearly 4,500 of our troops and seriously impaired for life countless others.
To be fair, Obama has killed some people too, namely terrorists. He ordered the attack on Osama Bin Laden’s compound. In September 2011, Anwar al-Awlaki, the al Qaeda leader of the Arabian Peninsula was killed. In January 2012 Obama sent the navy Seals into Somalia to rescue hostages from pirates who worked with local war lords. And just for good measure, he had the Seals kill the pirates too; after all, we could always use fewer pirates. He’s ordered the death of American born al Qaeda operatives (making them American citizens), in short Obama is angry commander in chief we needed for the last 12 years, not just four. It was the Neo-Cons who insisted that Richard Clarke, former chair of the Counter Terrorism Security Group, end his and Bill Clinton’s desire to find and execute Osama bin-Laden. And according to President Bush, it didn’t seem like they were that interested even after 9/11,
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- George W. Bush, (3/13/02)
Kind of makes you wonder if September 11th would have gone differently, or even be a date we’ll never forget if Obama had been the president.
